Updated WikiWebpart

Updated WikiWebpart

Since so many people asked for support to upload documents as well, I have implemented this functionality into my WikiWebpart. Now you can add pictures and files directly into your wiki by uploading them from the clients.

As always, you have to install the solution, and activate the WikiWebpart feature for you Sitecollection as described in Updated WikiWebpart + Tool to install it.

The Webpart will detect an existing picture and document library, and use it. If you have multiple libraries on your website, you can configure which one to use in the Webpart properties.

Note: This version of the Webpart will install itself into the GAC.

    Error

After running the Tool the Webpart is added to the Edit-Page.. But instead of the Webpart the following error is there:

Error (CreateChildControls): System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. at RH.WikiWebpart.CreateChildControls()

When I add the Webpart by hand it’s working..

Danke erstmal für die Entwicklung dieses nützlichen Webparts. Könntest du freundlicher Weise die “alte” manuelle Vorgehensweise zum Hinzufügen des WebParts in die ASPX Seiten posten?
    Danke und viele Grüße

modify the EditForm.aspx of your Wiki Page with SharePoint Designer, and add the WikiWebpart beneath the standard EditForm Webpart

    Meinst du so?

My first guess would be that you still have an old version of the Webpart in your bin folder. Please remove the feature and the old webpart (incl. web.config entries) and reinstall the feature.

    Hi,

habe die aktuellste Version des Webparts installiert.. Leider kommt beim Einfügen des Webparts per Sharepoint Designer o.g. Fehlermeldung. Beim händischen Einfügen im IE kommt die Meldung nicht…

    Question time :-)

    Hi,
This is a great product, thank you for making it so easily available.

I have a question in regards to its functionality. I’m probably not using it correctly so need some pinters.

Do you have a user doc for this product?

So I have installed it and can use it fine. I created a Wiki site and on the home page have set up the webpart. I can upload docs and images straight to the respective library. But how do I add the pic or doc straight to the new wiki i have created?

    thanks in advance

    Hi Armando,
you can use the “AddWikiWebpartTool” to put the Webpart on your EditForm.aspx. That way, you can upload images and docs while you are editing a Wiki entry. (Note: while editing, not creating a new entry!)

    Gruss

    Hello,

We are currently using this web part in our WSS 3.0 environment. How do we edit which document library a file is uploaded to using the Document Upload feature? Currently all documents uploaded this web part are being uploaded to one particular document library. We would like them to be uploaded to a Document Library related to the Wiki Library every time this feature is used. Is this possible?
